Compassionate End-of-Life Care
Nursing Care
Certified nurses plan each patient's care, provide medication, examine symptoms, and supervise patient care. As long as the patient's condition and treatment plan merit it, the nurse stays in contact with the doctor.
Medical Social Services
In addition to assessing family dynamics, the social worker represents the patient and family when they utilize neighborhood resources. In addition, the social worker offers guidance and support to the patient and their family members throughout the crisis phase and reports suggested modifications to the hospice team.
Physician Services
The patient's doctor endorses the arrangement of care and works intimately with the hospice group. A hospice clinical chief is accessible to the going to doctor, the patient, and the hospice care group as an expert and an asset.
Spiritual Support
Spiritual Care members are available to visit and provide support to the terminally ill. The Spiritual Care members also coordinate support with the patient's personal clergy when desired.
Bereavement Services
and support for family members and significant others throughout the patient's illness and for a minimum of 13 months (more, if needed) following the death.
Volunteers
Volunteers are trained in good listening skills and provide compassionate support for both patient and family. They offer companionship and help with everyday tasks such as shopping, sitting, and other tasks which help maintain the family's routine. Volunteer services may also include professional and personal care services.
Physical, Occupational, and Speech Therapies
Daily living tasks such as walking, dressing, or feeding oneself can become challenging during an illness. Therapists help the patient develop new ways to accomplish these task.
